About
Although we place much importance on postures in yoga practice, it is breathing that holds the key to healing, transformation and awareness. It is useful to remember that the body can remain without food for weeks, without water for days, but without breath for only minutes. We encourage students to be aware of breathing throughout yoga practice and to cultivate a regular meditation and contemplation practice that includes breathing exercises and awareness. There is an intimate connection between breath and mind. A calm mind is correlated to calm breathing. An erratic mind comes with erratic breathing. We use breath as a continual reminder to live with a calm clear mind, and a sense of balance. ā You will have opportunity to join us for three live online teaching sessions each week (taught by Stephanie Adams Ruff). ~Two integrated yoga classes each week live-streaming, via recording, or in-studio (Mon and Fri 12-1 PST) that integrate the teachings into a practice that focuses both on psychological and kinesthetic awareness. ~Plus satsang/discussion that includes pranayama practice Mondays 1:05-2:05 pm PST. ~This course includes up to 5 hours of learning each week.
