SAYF Training Offers So Much:

  • In Lesson 1, we learn about joint activation and muscle contraction, the importance of language in reducing the likelihood of injury, and how tissues get injured and the simplest ways to reduce the likelihood of that happening that can be applied to any pose or movement.

  • Learn up-to-date information on yoga asana and human movement mechanics.

  • Explore skeletal, soft tissue, subtle energy, and muscle anatomy as it applies to yoga asana.

  • Expand your language to offer more asana options in a way that helps every student to feel equally welcome and successful.

  • In Lesson 2, we learn how the tradition of the bandhas act as energetic foundations and tissue activation to better stabilize & naturally align the body in asana.

  • Apply critical thinking and guidelines that can be applied to most yoga asana "styles" and approaches to reduce the likelihood of injury.

  • In Lesson 3, we learn to "respect the risks" of some of the most popular poses by offering options to vary load and range of motion for individual needs.

  • Learn through a variety of methods including: text, videos, images, diagrams, stress-free quizzes and a final exam.

  • This course is 20 CE hours and may be eligible for professional continuing education for your yoga, therapeutic, or movement modalities and certifications.

“As a massage therapist, coming from an anatomy and bodywork background, SAYF was the perfect bridge to offering yoga pose stretches and strength options to my clients in a way that honors diverse bodies and awareness.” ~ Dolly Brandt, LMT, RYT 200, SAYF

"I am incredibly grateful for the SAYF training. It deepened my understanding of biomechanics, movement, and pose adaptation and modification. I use what I learned every day, in every aspect of my work. As an IAYT certified yoga therapist, it informed and enhanced the concepts presented in my training program and helps me apply those concepts with more accuracy as I create safe, effective, customized plans for my clients. As a Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, the SAYF program has helped me more quickly and accurately identify underlying movement issues and injuries that contribute to pain patterns in my patients, allowing me to provide well-rounded and effective acupuncture treatments and prescriptive exercises. I highly recommend the SAYF program."
