About Your Teacher
Stephanie Adams weaves over 30 years of yoga study and life experience into her teaching. A devoted student of yoga wisdom, her work translates ancient philosophy into practical, embodied insight—reminding students that yoga is not just something we do, but a way of being. Through mindful movement, breath, and reflection, she helps practitioners experience yoga as an art of awareness—where practice on the mat becomes a mirror for living with steadiness, compassion, and authenticity.
Rooted in decades of teaching across the country and guiding thousands of students and teachers, Stephanie’s path is also deeply personal. Yoga became both her refuge and her awakening—a practice that helped her heal the wounds of childhood trauma and break free from a family path of substance abuse. Her mentoring and Yama/Niyama programs invite students to explore these same principles of transformation, applying yoga’s timeless teachings as daily practice—cultivating clarity, presence, and freedom through conscious action, self-study, and trust. What emerges is a path both ancient and intimate: yoga as the ongoing journey of remembering who we are and how we wish to live.
Stephanie has achieved the highest levels of credentialing through Yoga Alliance and The American Yoga Council, and has served as a nationally recognized fitness and movement educator for nearly three decades. A certified Personal Trainer, Orthopedic Exercise Specialist, Cancer Exercise Specialist, and Moderation365 Coach, she has presented at major industry conferences and continues to bridge the worlds of movement science and yoga philosophy. From her lifelong passion for the healing and transformative power of yoga, she created the Sustainable Asana Yoga Foundation (SAYF) certification and educational platform. She is the author of Yoga for Cancer Recovery and is currently writing Contemplate the Opposite: Traditional Yoga Wisdom for Modern Life & Relationships.
